Who can visit?
Membership of the Golden Triangle Girls WI is open to anyone aged 18 or over who lives as a woman.
Anyone who is eligible to become a member is welcome to attend a main meeting as a guest. Our off-shoot groups are for members only, but we allow trial visits to ladies on the waiting list (when we have one).
Ladies who are not currently a member of any WI can make up to 3 visits each year. Members of other WIs can visit as many times as they like but must still pre-book (if you intend to join us more than 3 or 4 times a year you might like to consider becoming a dual member).
Plan your visit
In normal times, we meet in a local pub or church hall with limited capacity, so all visitors MUST pre-book. While we’re meeting online, we have similarly capped numbers to maintain a balance between members and non-members. Meeting online has opened-up our gatherings to visitors from further afield, so there is a healthy demand for visitor spaces and you’re unlikely to be ‘on your own’!
If you would like to visit, please take a look at our programme and let us know which month you’d like to attend. Some of our meetings are for members only, but they’re clearly marked on the programme.
Most WIs charge a small visitor’s fee to help cover the cost of the speaker and hall hire. The GTGs regularly fundraise to cover our activities and we are very self-sufficient. Therefore, rather than ask for a visitor’s fee, we ask for a donation to a local good cause. In more normal times this would be the Tricky Period Initiative but, while we’re not able to meet in person, we’re asking any visitors who are able to make a donation to their local food bank instead.
